FOUNDER AND LEAD STRATEGIST

I LEARNED SKILLS BEFORE I KNEW THEY WERE CALLED SKILLS.

Talitha Bothma’s career crossed fashion, modelling, media, recruitment, sales, entrepreneurship and growth and enablement across Africa’s technology sector.

A journey through people, identity, communication, strategy, technology, AI and opportunity.

THE LESSON BEHIND THE JOURNEY

I COULD NAME WHAT I LACKED MORE EASILY THAN I COULD NAME WHAT I WAS WORTH.

My career did not follow one straight line. I moved through fashion, modelling, media, recruitment, sales and entrepreneurship before working in growth and enablement across Africa’s technology sector. Along the way, technology and increasingly AI became a thread connecting those worlds: how people create, communicate, learn, sell, recruit, build and find opportunity. Each chapter taught me something different about people, trust, value and what helps potential become visible.

What I eventually understood is that skills alone are not enough. Identity gives your skills direction. Technology can amplify what you know, but positioning helps other people understand why it matters. Opportunity becomes more reachable when you can clearly show who you are, what you can do, how you think and where you can contribute. That is also how I approach AI: not as a replacement for the person, but as a tool that should strengthen judgement, voice and capability.

Worth in Motion grew from the belief that people may already carry more value and capability than their CV knows how to communicate. The work is to recognise what is there, develop it, position it and put it in motion.

WHAT EACH CHAPTER TAUGHT ME

A CAREER CAN GROW THROUGH MANY WORLDS.

Fashion, modelling and media developed my understanding of presentation and storytelling. Recruitment and sales sharpened how I listen, communicate value and build trust. Entrepreneurship and work in technology growth and enablement deepened my understanding of strategy, people and how capability can find a place to contribute.

These experiences did not sit in separate boxes. They shaped a way of seeing the connection between identity, communication, technology and opportunity.

IDENTITY AND STRATEGY

IDENTITY GIVES STRATEGY DIRECTION.

Technology can amplify capability. Positioning helps other people understand why that capability matters. AI should strengthen judgement, voice and capability rather than replace the person.

That belief informs how I approach strategy: begin with who a person is, get clear on what they bring, then decide how to express it and where it can contribute.

PEOPLE AT THE CENTRE

MY PASSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN PEOPLE.

The meaning I carry in my name, “little girl”, reminds me to keep a childlike heart: curious, open, willing to learn and able to imagine what could be possible.

Worth in Motion is built around people and the value they can bring into the world.

PEOPLE. SKILLS. OPPORTUNITY.
